Generally, what inspires you to read?
I read for entertainment and to gain knowledge in areas of interest to me. Reading is a part of who I am and I could not go more than a day without picking up a book or magazine.
When did you first read The Sweeter the Juice: A Family Memoir in Black and White?
1998 or 1999
How did you come to read this book?
Just happened.
Why has this book inspired you the most?
It is just a fascinating story of a family who "passed as white" while the other side of the family lived as African Americans. It was a phenomenon that I knew nothing about.
In reading this book, how has your life been influenced or changed?
I have a greater appreciation for the lives of African Americans.
