The Bible

Submitted by: Mark Radecke

Generally, what inspires you to read?
The opportunity to learn, to experience things outside my own life and culture, to take my mind and spirit to places real and imaginative, and sometimes simple to escape!

When did you first read The Bible?
It was read to me as a young child, after that, as soon as I could read.

How did you come to read this book?
It was given to me.

Why has this book inspired you the most?
The story of Israel, Jesus, and the church is the story of origins and ultimate destiny. Its heroes are real, often with clay feet, foibles and follies, and yet the pervasive message is that God uses just such people to accomplish God's good ends.

In reading this book, how has your life been influenced or changed?
It is the story that norms my story, informs my mind, and forms my soul.
