Stimulating my mind, learning new things, reading for pleasure (a story about something I like, am interested in, etc.)

How did you come to read this book?
It was assigned for a class, but I would have read it anyway.
Why has this book inspired you the most?
I like LGBT literature, and as an advocate of the LGBT cause, I wanted to read it.
In reading this book, how has your life been influenced or changed?
I would not say that my life has been changed, but it has definitely been influenced by the story of someone's life. Reading a story of someone who came from a nontraditional, even broken family, and made something positive out of that experience, is truly inspiring.
